Welcome to Recovery at the Mount

Recovery Alive is a church-based program that connects individuals and communities in need to a powerful, life-changing, Christ-centered 12-step program.

Our Mission

We believe that through the limitless strength of Christ’s Holy Spirit, recovery is not only possible but inevitable when broken individuals engage the POWER, PEOPLE, and PROCESS of Recovery Alive.

How to Get Involved

Ongoing Men’s and Women’s Processing Groups

Gender-specific groups that meet weekly for 12 weeks using the Recovery Alive Handbook. This is for anyone suffering from an addiction, trauma, grief, anger, depression, anxiety, or anything that has wounded your soul and is keeping you from walking in the light of our Lord. Come, let this process change your life!

Our Pastor’s Vision

We are living in a Mental Illness crisis. With life falling apart, people have turned to substances to dull the pain. The result is that in 2024, over 83,000 Americans died from drug overdoses. The church cannot remain silent and sit back, watching from the sidelines. The church must be more than a referral agency; it must provide hope and restoration to our broken community. Our purpose is “to help people stay alive so that they can live.” Yes, the church cares!

Mount Pisgah has been on the corner of Pisgah Church and Battleground for decades. Thousands of people pass by the church every day. We are known as the “Pumpkin Church,” having started this ministry in 1990. Our desire is to be known as a church that can offer hope to the hopeless. Our addictions have wrecked our careers, families, and separated us from the Lord, but there is hope. Addictions keep you hostage, Mount Pisgah wants to see you find deliverance. We invite you to join us every Thursday evening for supper, a powerful service, and to be part of our community. The whole family is invited. There will be care for infants and classes for children and teens, to help with the impact of your addiction.

We don’t want anything to hold you back. My goal is for each of you to encounter a non-judgmental, authentic Christian community.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

Women’s Recovery

“A lifetime of carrying around shame and guilt from childhood trauma led me to an alcohol addiction that spanned decades. My pain became unbearable and I was at the end of my rope. My Savior Jesus Christ pulled me from the pit of despair, out of the darkness and into His light. You too can break free from what binds you and know a peace and joy that defies all understanding!”
